No. 4 Dwyer 72, Jupiter 52: Jordan Gonzalez scored 18 points and Gedeon Germinal added 16 more as the Panthers (20-4) overpowered the Warriors in Palm Beach Gardens.

Cardinal Newman edges No. 5 Palm Beach Lakes in boys basketball

Cardinal Newman 58, No. 5 Palm Beach Lakes 55: K.J. Fitzgerald had 19 points, clearing 1,000 for his career, and six assists, Scott Perry scored 17 points and Warren Goldbourne added 10 rebounds as the Crusaders (12-7) stopped the Rams (16-5) in West Palm Beach.

 Newman wins girls basketball title; Boca Christian loses soccer playoff

District 12-4A Championship GameNo. 1 Cardinal Newman 61, Oxbridge Academy 40: Milan Morris scored 27 points and grabbed a dozen rebounds, and Tytionia Adderly added 13 more points and grabbed as many rebounds as the host Crusaders (25-1) defeated the Thunderwolves for their third straight district championship (seventh in the last 11 years) in West Palm Beach.

No. 4 Suncoast, No. 3 Gardens roll to girls basketball wins

No. 3 Palm Beach Gardens 61, Palm Beach Central 32: Quiana Franklin scored 10, bringing her to 1,000 points in her career, and Emerald Hart added 25 points with nine rebounds as the Gators (18-5) defeated the Broncos at home.

Abby Pac throws strikes, not heat. The Boca Raton senior pitcher and Palm Beach Post Large Schools Softball Player of the Year was dominant on the mound this season, mixing finesse with control on the way to compiling a 16-2 record and an area-best .

All-Area: Summer Burgess, small schools softball player of year

There are nine positions in softball, and Summer Burgess has excelled at every one. The Grandview Prep junior was a standout at catcher and second base for the Class 2A state runner-up Pride this season, but has filled in wherever needed during her four varsity seasons at the school.
