Despite finally suffering a regular-season loss, Benjamin junior Zach Krumholz still turned in another outstanding season for the Buccaneers.

After going a combined 21-0 in his first two years at Benjamin, Krumholz was 11-1 this season.

"It was a great season for me personally and for the team," Krumholz said. "I feel like I took my game to another level."

Though for the third season in a row an individual state title eluded Krumholz, he did manage to team with Max Kaye to win the state doubles title.

As a senior, Krumholz has a simple goal.

"I want to win state as an individual and I think it's very attainable for me," Krumholz said.

Krumholz's attributes much of his success to his competitiveness.

"I think I win a lot of my matches just because I want it more than my opponent," Krumholz said. "I don't think anyone works harder than I do."

That competitive fire, combined with a monster forehand, has made Krumholz one of the best players in the state and when he returns for his senior season, he's sure he will be even better.

"I'm playing an incredible summer schedule that includes five national tournaments," Krumholz said. "And everyday I'm on the court for at least an hour and a half.

"I'm working to make myself better everyday."
