Boys Soccer: No. 3 Benjamin earns berth in district final

Tristan Walker and Tristan Doran each scored a goal as third-ranked Benjamin edged Cardinal Newman 2-1 in the District 12-2A boys soccer semifinals Thursday night in Palm Beach Gardens.

The Bucs (17-0-2) advance to face King's Academy in today's championship.

No. 5 King's Academy 2, Glades Central 1: Austin Masi scored two goals to help the second-seeded Lions (17-5) edge the Raiders in Palm Beach Gardens.

District 9-5A

Palm Beach Gardens 2, No. 8 Jupiter 1: Mario Castaneda and Bryan Pinzon each scored a goal to lead the fifth-seeded Gators (7-9-2) to the upset of the top-seeded Warriors in Wellington. The Gators will face Wellington in tonight's championship.

Wellington 2, Palm Beach Central 1: Juan Trujillo scored a goal, but the third-seeded Broncos (6-9-4) fell to the second-seeded Wolverines in Wellington.

District 15-3A

Boynton Beach 1, Suncoast 0: The top-seeded Tigers edged the fifth-seeded Chargers in Jensen Beach. Boynton will face Okeechobee in tonight's championship.

Okeechobee 3, Jensen Beach 2: Sergio Vargas game-winning goal lifted the second-seeded Brahmans (9-6-2) over the third-seeded Falcons (9-9-1) in Jensen Beach.

District 13-2A

No. 2 American Heritage 8, Fort Lauderdale-Calvary Christian 0: Jeff Joseph scored three goals to lead the top-seeded Stallions (18-4-4) to the rout of the fourth-seeded Eagles in Delray Beach. The Stallions will face Coconut Creek-North Broward Prep in tonight's championship.

District 13-1A

Pompano Beach-Highlands Christian 3, Yeshiva 0: The Storm were shut down by the Knights (11-5-3) in the district championship in Pompano Beach.

District 12-1A

No. 7 Trinity Christian 4, Berean Christian 0: Darren Seferina had a goal and an assist and Nick Nedd had seven saves to earn his 11th shutout as the top-seeded Warriors (17-0) stopped the fifth-seeded Bulldogs in Lake Worth. Gerritson Craane, Junior Jaramillo and Ben Manuel each added a goal for Trinity, which will face Jupiter Christian in today's district championship.

Jupiter Christian 8, Pine School 2: Andrew Massie, Lawson Lindsey, Christian Acuna each had two goals and two assists, leading the second-seeded Eagles to the rout of thie third-seeded Knights (10-12-1) in Lake Worth. Reid Mortell scored two goals and Ethan Romero had five saves for Pine.
