Jeffrey Demezier connected on five 3-point shots and scored a total of 28 points as he led Spanish River to a 59-32 victory over Santaluces in Lantana on Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams.
Spanish River forced Santaluces into 16 turnovers and made a total of seven 3-pointers en route to pulling away from the Chiefs.
Armando Moses paced the Chiefs with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Lincoln Park Academy 54, South Fork 36: Roderick Reaves had 18 points and seven rebounds and E.J. Montgomery totaled four assists as the Greyhounds defeated the Bulldogs in Fort Pierce. Michael Rivan scored nine points for South Fork.
Palm Beach Lakes 74, Cardinal Newman 24: Terry Hudson scored seven points, but the Crusaders (0-1) fell to the Rams (1-0) in West Palm Beach.
Okeechobee 40, Berean Christian 37: Sylvester Butler scored 11 points and Brendin Jones-Saint had nine points as the Brahmans (1-0) defeated the Bulldogs (1-1) in Okeechobee. David Stevens scored 10 points and Charles Howell had eight assists and seven rebounds for Berean Christian.
Dreyfoos 52, Trinity Christian 26: Kay-Von Humphrey had 11 points and six rebounds and Edward Wolphie had eight points and 18 rebounds, but the Warriors (0-1) fell to the Jaguars (1-0) in Lake Worth.
Boca Raton 61, Olympic Heights 40: Trey Maloney had 13 points and seven rebounds and Max McKee had 11 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bobcats (2-0) past the Lions (0-2) in Boca Raton.
Wellington 36, Glades Central 30: Stephon Gordon 10 points and nine rebounds and Arthur Strapazzon added six points and 14 rebounds as the Wolverines (2-0) routed the Raiders in Wellington.
Benjamin 70, Palm Beach Central 66: Michael Wilson had 20 points and three rebounds and Jon Pavlov added four points as the Buccaneers (1-0) routed the Broncos (0-1) in Wellington.
Oxbridge 66, Wellington Christian 42: Zach Shell tallied 18 points, nine boards and five assists and Andrew Haisfield chipped in 10 points, four rebounds and four assists as the Thunderwolves (1-0) eased past the Eagles in Wellington. Justin Hunter had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Wellington Christian.
Pope John Paul II 69, Morningside Academy 22: Kevin Johnston scored 21 points and Brock Turner had 14 points and six rebounds as Pope John Paul (2-0) beat the Morningside Academy (0-1) in Boca Raton.
Pahokee 37, King's Academy 33: Jaleek Mitchell had 12 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks to lead the Blue Devils (1-0) past the Crusaders in Pahokee.
Boynton Beach 71, John I Leonard 62: Michael Evans scored 28 points and Kory Brown had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals as the Tigers (1-0) defeated the Lancers (0-1) in Boynton Beach.
GIRLS
Atlantic 70, Inlet Grove 7: Taylor Thigpin had 26 points, Khadijah Brown had 14 points and six steals as the Eagles (1-2) routed the Hurricanes in Delray Beach.
Seminole Ridge 61, Glades Central 24: Cristina Richards scored 16 points and had five rebounds and Adrianiq Pryce added 13 points to lead the Hawks (3-2) past the Raiders in Glades Central.
Cardinal Newman 39, West Boca Raton 27: Andrea Alvarez scored 14 points and Tytionia Adderly added 13 rebounds to lead the Crusaders (4-0) past the Bulls (0-3) in West Palm Beach.

Congrats to Boynton High...Basketball has made its return after a few down years. Its difficult to win in PBC without cheating/recruiting but it can happen.

I see the discipline on the team that I have not seen. Well done coach and players Iam sure that your season will be better than previous.
