Chelsea Boretti is a setter for Wellington and played a great game but did not have 16 kills. Im sure it was Sydney Shinn (15) from Wellington. She is really good.

We are on the right track at PBC and continue to get better every night. This team is a year away from something special.

PBCENTRAL HAS MANY BOOMERS TOP CLUB GIRLS ON THE TEAM BUT YET CANT MANAGE TO COMPETE!
WHATS THE STORY BEHIND THAT TEAM?

PBCVBall commented on September 21, 2012 at 9:59 p.m.: report abuse

The story behind that team is that the coach has his favorites and refuses to put anyone else in the game. He absolutely doesn't see that the favorites just aren't cutting it this year and really should be sitting out a game or two. Seems kind of silly to exhaust everyone on the team while other girls are sitting on the bench and never put a hand on a ball once. He'll never go anywhere with his coaching style. Because of the coach there is a lot of animosity between the girls and it shows when they play. That's the story behind that team, well part of the story anyway.

You sound like a parent of one of the girls on the bench. The team definitely does have problems towards each other on the court, but even if he picks favorites, the other wouldn't play anyways, neither setters are very good and the back up is no better, obviously. The team plays lazy and some don't seem to care about losing. If you watch the team warm up you can see they have only a few good players. Coach Elder is a good coach, the reason your daughter doesn't play is because of her skill, not because the coach doesn't like her.

Central has a 12 girl varsity squad. Of those 12, Six (6) are seniors. Ten (10) of those 12 are club players. Five (5) of those players were with Palm Beach Juniors and only one of those five played on an elite team. Four (4) of those players were on Boomers and only 2 of them were on an elite team. So no, "canudigit" we do not have "many of Boomers top players" on our squad.

"PBCVBall" is telling the truth, coach does have his favorites and plays them, sometimes to the detriment of the team, but "PBCVB" is also telling the truth, the team tends to get lazy and once they get behind they seem to lack the drive to push through it and fight.

The amount of talent we do have we should be a better team. We have excellent hitters/ front row players, some extremely under used and/or poorly used. However where we are lacking is glaring (mainly setters and a sketchy back row except for our libero). The lack of players in specific positions is not the coaches fault you have the play the hand your dealt. However, how he utilizes (or does not utilize) what players he has is his fault.
