Leeanna Rathell made six three-pointers and scored 30 points, leading the eighth-ranked Santaluces girls basketball team to a 65-44 victory Tuesday over Boca Raton in the iCan Holiday Tournament.
Miriam Pierre added 13 points for the Chiefs (11-4).
Chloe Van Bourgiden scored 18 points for Boca Raton (9-5).
SPANISH RIVER 45, WEST BOCA RATON 44
Emily Rosenstein scored 25 points as the Sharks edged the Bulls (10-5) in the iCan Holiday Tournament. Rachel Wohlfield scored 17 points for West Boca Raton.
PALM BEACH GARDENS 51, POMPANO BEACH-ELY 42
Brigitte Zavithsanos had 16 points, four assists and four steals to lead the Gators (6-6) over the Tigers. Palm Beach Gardens will face Santaluces today.
LAKE WORTH 54, AMERICAN HERITAGE 43
Shatavia Smith scored 19 points and Armanee Cross added 10 to lead the Trojans past the Stallions. Sarah Cooper had 22 points and 20 rebounds for American Heritage.
CARDINAL NEWMAN 44, ORANGE PARK-FLEMING ISLAND 37
Miranda Nadal had 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Crusaders rallied past the Golden Eagles at the Eastside Classic in Gainesville. Trailing 24-18 at halftime, Cardinal Newman scored the first 12 points of the second half to take control. "The girls came out and really executed on both ends of the court in the second half," Cardinal Newman coach Dennis Miles said. Daisy DeRooy contributed nine points and 16 rebounds and Ana Defilippo added five points late to help the Crusaders survive. Cardinal Newman faces Alachua-Santa Fe at 2:30 p.m. today.
