Softball: No. 5 Spanish River improves to 9-1

Sam Howard was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, leading the fifth-ranked Spanish River softball team to a 10-5 victory over Atlantic on Monday night in Boca Raton.

Kristina Koutsoupis went 4-for-5 with a double and Aleisha Alexander had two RBIs for Spanish River (9-1).

John I. Leonard 8, Olympic Heights 6: Jessica Clark was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Alisa Stiles doubled as the Lancers (3-6) beat the Lions in Greenacres.

King’s Academy 13, Fort Lauderdale-Calvary Christian 10: Kristen Wright was 3-for-4 with a double and four runs scored as the Lions (5-2) outlasted the Eagles in Royal Palm Beach.

Lake Worth Christian 14, Lake Worth 2 (5): Rebecca Ross struck out four in five innings as the Defenders (4-2) routed the Trojans (2-8) in Lake Worth. Krystin Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Lake Worth.

Wellington Christian 16, Donna Klein 2 (5): Alyssa Grecz was 4-for-4 with three home runs and five RBIs as Wellington Christian (1-1) routed Donna Klein in Wellington. Tiffany Pettet also hit two home runs for Wellington Christian.

Jupiter Christian 16, Fort Pierce Westwood 0 (3): Kiana Rivera and Erin O’Conner each were 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Eagles (3-4) routed the Panthers in Fort Pierce. Brittany Picard tripled and drove in four runs.
