The fourth-ranked player on the Class of 2015 Big Board might not be ready to worry about the next level, but that hasn’t stopped colleges from paying attention to him.

Desmond Cain, WR/DB, American Heritage

5-foot-11, 183 pounds

Offers: South Carolina, SMU, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, among others

Q&A with Cain

Q: What has the recruiting process been like?

A: It’s been really hard. Every time I get a new school, it kind of changes my opinion on things. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. I’ll go anywhere I can play.

Q: What other schools have contacted you?

A: I’m getting a lot of interest from Syracuse, Florida, Tennessee and Nebraska. I don’t have any favorites right now.

Q: Which position do you want to play in college?

A: I haven’t thought about it yet, but it doesn’t matter which one.

Coach’s take: “He’s extremely hard-working. He’s always on the field fine-tuning his skills to take him to that next level. He’s a committed kid.” — American Heritage head coach Stacy Sizemore

Last year’s stats: Cain caught 15 passes for 312 yards and one touchdown, ran 10 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and was 4-of-6 passing for 65 yards. On defense, he recorded seven interceptions, returning two for scores. He also rant back two punts for touchdowns.

Breakdown: A standout at multiple positions, Cain is fast, athletic and makes plays on the ball. He has good size at defensive back and holds an unmatched work ethic. He’s already drawn plenty of attention from scouts, and to date has received numerous scholarship offers.

Check back each day at noon to see the next player on our countdown.
