Softball: No. 2 Palm Beach Gardens rolls to victory

Kelsie Lay had two doubles, two RBI and four runs scored, leading second-ranked Palm Beach Gardens to a 20-3 rout of fifth-ranked Wellington in five innings Tuesday night in Wellington.

Tiffany Lower added a double and four RBI for the Gators (6-1).

Marry Rodriguez hit a solo home run for Wellington (5-2).

No. 3 Park Vista 6, Seminole Ridge 2: Emily Lochten was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs and Jamie Scher went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, leading the Cobras (7-2) past the Hawks (3-5) in Loxahatchee.

No. 6 West Boca Raton 11, Atlantic 1 (5): Kelsey Whalen was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Haley Gonzales went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple to lead the Bulls (5-1) to the rout of the Eagles in Boca Raton.

No. 9 Benjamin 20, Oxbridge 2 (3): Hannah Polack was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and five RBIs as the Buccaneers (6-1) routed the Thunderwolves in West Palm Beach. Whitney Sousa had four RBIs for Benjamin.

No. 10 Spanish River 1, Boca Raton0: Sammy Wroblewski had a double and scored the lone run and pitched a shutout with 12 strikeouts as the Sharks (4-1) edged the Bobcats (5-1) in Boca Raton.

John I. Leonard 16, Palm Beach Lakes 1 (3): Kaitlyn Burkhardt had two doubles and two triples and drove in five runs as the Lancers (4-4) routed the Rams (0-5) in Greenacres. Jessica Clark and Alyssa Pointer each had three hits for Leonard.

Lake Worth 14, Olympic Heights 4 (5): Krystin Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Maxise Hillaire went 2-for-4 with a triple to lead the Trojans (3-3) over the Lions (2-4) in Lake Worth.

King's Academy 10, Clewiston 3: Becca Gomez was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Allison Wilcox earned the win as the Lions (4-5) beat the Tigers in Clewiston.

Jupiter Christian 16, Berean Christian 0 (4): Loren Kilgore was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored and Erin O'Connor went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Eagles (3-2) coasted over the Bulldogs in Jupiter.

Wellington Christian 11, Boca Raton Christian 2: Cali Gumpel was 3-for-3 with a triple and a three-run home run and Tiffany Pettet was 2-for-3 with a home run as the Eagles (4-1) routed the Blazers (3-2) in Wellington.

Jensen Beach 10, Suncoast 5: Christiana Marasa was 4-for-4 with two triples and earned the victory on the mound as the Falcons (4-3) defeated the Chargers (4-4) in Jensen Beach.

Glades Day 17, Lake Worth Christian 0 (3): Olivia Pope hit a grand slam and Amanda Bock was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored as the Gators (3-1) cruised past the Defenders in Belle Glade.

Centennial 9, John Carroll 6: Meredith Flynn had three hits, including a home run, and Allie Girard drove in three runs as the Eagles beat the Rams in Port St. Lucie. Megan McHenry struck out eight to earn the win.
