Palm Beach Post Staff Reports

Chris Minor had 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead Palm Beach Lakes to a 76-56 victory over Cardinal Newman on Saturday.

The Rams improved to 2-2 while the Crusaders were handed their first loss in nine games.

No. 1 Dwyer 78, Coolidge (D.C) 66 (2OTs): Tia Harris scored 22 points and the Panthers (4-0) outscored Coolidge 13-1 in the second overtime in the Kreul Classic Sweet Sixteen Tournament in Coral Springs.

Miami-Norland 72, No. 5 Atlantic 56: Jerrod James scored 10 points, but the Eagles fell to the Vikings at the Kreul Classic.

West Boca Raton 65, Hollywood-Chaminade Madonna 49: Robert Lockhart scored 24 points and Kelsey Williams added 15 points as the Bulls defeated the Lions at the Kreul Classic.

Miami-Belen Jesuit 76, Pahokee 41: James Johnson scored 12 points and Fred Pickett added 11, but the Blue Devils lost to the Wolverines at the Kreul Classic.

Wellington 59, Clearwater-Countryside 57: Stephen Banesh had 15 points and eight rebounds and Kendall Johnson added 15 points and five rebounds as the Wolverines (4-4) edged the Cougars (4-4) in Coconut Creek.

Pope John Paul II 41, Coral Springs Charter 38: Troy Lieb scored 17 points and Patrick Vandendriessche added 15 as the Eagles (6-6) held off the Panthers in Boca Raton.

Berean Christian 72, Benjamin 51: Tannon Roberts scored 25 points as the Bulldogs (5-4) won their Christmas in the Kennel Tournament over the Buccaneers (3-5) in West Palm Beach. Brett Rosenthal led Benjamin with 11 points.

Trinity Christian 52, Westminster Christian 51: David Jones scored 17 points, including the go-ahead basket as the Warriors (5-6) escaped at the Westminster Christian tournament in Miami.

Jensen Beach 55, John Carroll 22: Tevin Wilson scored 13 points as the host Falcons (3-4) routed the Rams (1-6).

Girls basketball

No. 4 Dwyer 74, Bishop Verot 62: Kai James had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers (8-2) past the Vikings at the Key West Holiday Tournament.

No. 5 Jupiter 53, Mount Healthy (Ohio) 31: Joi Ostrout had nine points and 12 rebounds and Shannon Casper added eight points and six assists as the Warriors (10-3) routed the Owls (8-3) at the St. Andrew's Holiday Classic in Boca Raton. Jupiter will play St. Andrew's for the championship Monday night.

St. Andrew's 58, Coconut Creek 46: Taylor Tremblay scored 22 points and Angela Alvarez added 17 to lead the Scots (7-3) to victory over the Cougars (9-2) at their own tournament in Boca Raton.

Neumann-Goretti (Pa.) 53, Olympic Heights 25: Jade Dowdell scored nine points and Stephanie Kalen added seven but the Lions fell to the Saints at the St. Andrew's Holiday Classic.

American Heritage 66, Fort Lauderdale-Pine Crest 31: Robyn McDonald had 16 points and four rebounds and Diamond Jones added 15 points and three rebounds as the Stallions (11-0) rolled over the Panthers in Delray Beach.

Jupiter Christian 45, Lake Worth Christian 32: Christina Hale had 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles (10-2) past the Defenders to win the Miami-Westminster Christian Tournament. Emily Wade scored 10 points to lead Lake Worth Christian.

Benj needs a new coach when you play all year and lose to a tiny school like BC you suck,almost as bad as the football team ALMOST
