Hey Benjamin welcome to real la crosse

great coverage post commented on March 4, 2012 at 4:59 p.m.: report abuse

Great coverage matt and jeff. Local PBC games held in a venue such as sunlife stadium and you have a 2 sentence wrap up.

You guys need to actually start doing some work. Must be nice to have a job where you only have to work during football season.

kings commented on March 4, 2012 at 7:39 p.m.: report abuse

football is all that matters

tigerwoods commented on March 4, 2012 at 9:51 p.m.: report abuse

Pretty funny "great coverage" i think they were at the honda classic

must be so much fun to be an angry fan of a sport no one cares about

@ kings commented on March 5, 2012 at 6:27 a.m.: report abuse

Jeff Greer commented on March 5, 2012 at 1:17 p.m.: report abuse

We were at the biggest sporting event the county has each year -- the Honda Classic -- all weekend. Sorry we couldn't make the hour-and-a-half drive to Miami to cover a lacrosse game.

@jeff commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:04 p.m.: report abuse

And we can we expect an article on your high school coverage of a pro golfing event?

The Honda Classic had plenty of coverage, by the time the post had anything it was old news. We can get Honda info on any number of media venues, but we cant get LAX info anywhere else.

Know you audience

@priorities commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:24 p.m.: report abuse

You're absolutely right. Plus, Jeff and Matt didn't do a story on the Honda Classic (that I'm aware of). They probably got free tickets from the Post and went, partied it up and wrote it off as business expenses.

Meanwhile, the best lacrosse in the area was in a freaking NFL stadium, and we get a 2 sentence write up.

Jeff Greer commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:27 p.m.: report abuse

We handled all of the online duties for the four days of the tournament. We got huge Web numbers for our coverage of the Honda Classic. Our audience wanted that coverage and they got it.

easy solution commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:29 p.m.: report abuse

Jeff,

I think people would be more understanding of the lack of coverage of the sunlife games, if you guys made attempts to cover lacrosse at all.

There is no team lists on the site, no games on the daily calendar, write ups are only from coaches calling in.

You guys are really dropping the ball on a really fast growing sport.

Jeff Greer commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:29 p.m.: report abuse

Also, I don't live in my office. It's 75-80 miles from my place to Sun Life, so thanks for the directions from the Post building.

Jeff Greer commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:33 p.m.: report abuse

I think the other problem is that people don't understand that we don't pick our assignments. I don't choose where I go. I will recommend to our bosses that we cover more lacrosse, but that's not my decision.

world commented on March 5, 2012 at 2:46 p.m.: report abuse

who cares about la crosse get over it

@ Jeff commented on March 5, 2012 at 3:04 p.m.: report abuse

Tell your boss, we want more local coverage, All high school sports, college and pros arent selling papers but HS will.

Cant be a hometown hero without the POST

curious commented on March 5, 2012 at 8:42 p.m.: report abuse

wondering: is lacrosse now an accredited high school sport or still a club sport. that may answer your question on coverage

@curious commented on March 5, 2012 at 9:04 p.m.: report abuse

it is now varsity

curious commented on March 5, 2012 at 10:29 p.m.: report abuse
