Girls Basketball: Seminole Ridge rolls into district semifinals

Jessica Cody had 21 points and 10 rebounds, leading Seminole Ridge to a 55-16 rout of John I. Leonard in a District 10-8a girls basketball quarterfinal Tuesday night in Boca Raton.

Cristina Richards added 14 points and eight rebounds for the fifth-seeded Hawks (15-11), who will face Boca Raton in the semifinals tonight.

District 9-8A

Jupiter 58, Wellington 18: Caroli Homish scored 15 points and Savannah Padron added 10 as the fourth-seeded Warriors (11-9) routed the fifth-seeded Wolverines in Jupiter. The Warriors will face Dwyer in Thursday's semifinals in Wellington.

District 12-4A

Cardinal Newman 60, St. Andrew's 46: Tytionia Adderly had 24 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals, and five blocks and Anna DeFilippo added 15 points and four steals as the third-seeded Crusaders (13-10) defeated the second-seeded Scots in West Palm Beach. The Crusaders will face top-seeded Lincoln Park Academy in Thursday's final.

Lincoln Park Academy 84, Glades Central 41: Brandy Montgomery scored 35 points and Taneria Wilson added 17 as the Greyhounds (19-4) routed the Raiders (2-16) in West Palm Beach.

District 13-3A

Village Academy 42, Pope John Paul II 19: Chanzie Simmons scored 12 points as the third-seeded Tigers shut down the sixth-seeded Eagles in Delray Beach. Emily Kissel scored 12 points for Pope. Village Academy will play Yeshiva in Thursday's semifinals.

Summit Christian 58, American Heritage 36: Terreah Smith scored 23 points and Victoria Locke added 17 to lead the fourth-seeded Saints over the fifth-seeded Stallions (2-10) in Delray Beach. Lyrik Williams scored 19 points for Heritage. Summit Christian will play Trinity Christian in Thursday's semifinals.

District 12-3A

Berean Christian 47, Jupiter Christian 23: Alyssa Ashworth had 19 points and five steals and Jessica Barber added 12 points and 10 rebounds as the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (13-11) routed the fifth seed Eagles in Royal Palm Beach. Lindsey Powers led Jupiter Christian with 11 points. Berean Christian will play Benjamin in Thursday's semifinals.

District 12-2A

Lake Worth Christian 52, Wellington Christian 16: Jessica Golden scored 17 points, Cheyenne Robinson added 11 and Morgan Shedd contributed nine as the second-seeded Defenders (15-1) routed the seventh-seeded Eagles in Boynton Beach. The Defenders advance to face Boca Raton Christian in Thursday's semifinals.

Boca Raton Christian 49, FAU High 31: Victoria Daglio had 17 points and eight steals and McKenzie Ross added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the third-seeded Blazers (14-5) rode a strong second half to victory over the sixth-seeded Owls in 12-2A playoff action in Boca Raton. Naima Hamad led FAU with 16 points.

Donna Klein Academy 31, Glades Day 27: Taytum Orshan scored 16 points and the fifth-seeded Eagles held on to outlast the fourth-seeded Gators (5-13) in Belle Glade. Amanda Bock had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Glades Day. Donna Klein moves on to play Grandview Prep in Thursday's semifinals.
