Boys Lacrosse: Oxbridge edges King's Academy

Riley Smith scored the game-winner off an assist from Zach Ranta as Oxbridge edged King's Academy 13-12 in a boys lacrosse season-opening matchup Tuesday night in Royal Palm Beach.
Smith finished with six goals and Ranta contributed two goals and six assists for the Thunderwolves.
Spanish River 19, Cardinal Newman 6: Adrian Franzone had five goals and four assists as the Sharks (1-0) routed the Crusaders (0-1) in Boca Raton. Evan Deacon, Colton Stanger and Davis Diamond each contributed four goals for Spanish River. Ryan Milano had three goals and an assist for Newman.
Pope John Paul II 15, Fort Lauderdale-Calvary Christian 5: Chris Castellon and Connor Phornton each had two goals and three assists as the Eagles (2-0) earned the easy win in Boca Raton.
GIRLS
Wellington 22, Palm Beach Central 11: Gabby Klyotskim scored nine goals as the Wolverines (1-0) doubled up on the Broncos in Wellington. Kathleen Gerrits and Natalie Kelly each contributed five goals for Wellington.
Park Vista 21, Cardinal Newman 3: Carly Treibits scored five goals and Bailey Mathis added four goals as the Cobras (1-1) routed the Crusaders in West Palm Beach. Caitlyn Glass added four assists for Vista.
Benjamin 24, Dwyer 4: Maria Dattolo had four goals and three assists and Riley Johnston added three goals and two assists as the Buccaneers (1-0) routed the Panthers (1-0) Palm Beach Gardens.
Spanish River 19, Olympic Heights 4: Nicole Greenberg scored three goals, but the Lions (0-1) fell to the visiting Sharks in Boca Raton.
Oxbridge Academy 13, John I. Leonard 4: Sarah Dunkle scored five goals and Madi McDole recorded 15 saves as the Thunderwolves (1-0) stopped the Lancers in West Palm Beach.
