Kelvin Taylor rushed for 288 yards on 30 carries with two touchdowns, leading the Glades Day football team to a 29-20 victory over Clewiston on Friday night.
Taylor's touchdowns were for 73 and 6 yards, both of which came in the first quarter. Eaton Spence put the game away for Glades Day (2-2) with a 65-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Clewiston fell to 0-3.
King's Academy 14,
Orlando-Bishop Moore 7: Linebacker Gage Batten led a strong defensive effort as the Lions (3-0) beat the Hornets (2-1) in Orlando. Batten had nine tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Kevin Stypulkowski caught a 42-yard touchdown pass, and Brian Grove scored the other touchdown for King's Academy on a 10-yard run.
Champagnat Catholic 12,
Village Academy 8: Roderick Johnson had seven tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two sacks and Matthew Holland added a rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion, but the Tigers (2-1) fell to the Lions in Delray Beach.
Calvary Christian 44,
St. Andrew's 27: Gary Gladden rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and Chase Goldbaum added two interceptions, but the Scots (2-1) fell to the Eagles (2-1) in Fort Lauderadle. Jason Weprin contributed an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Scots.
Florida Christian 52,
Summit Christian 0: The Saints fell to 0-2 on the season with loss to the Patriots in Miami.
Martin County earns two Challenge wins: Mallori Moffat had 46 assists and 20 service points and Nicole Walch added 18 kills and nine digs as the Tigers (5-0) beat Wellington 25-18, 25-20 and Palmetto 25-8, 25-9 to advance through the first two rounds of the East Coast Challenge in Stuart. Madisen Lydon had 17 digs and 11 service points for Martin County, which will play Pompano Beach this morning in Stuart.
