Friday's high school football roundup: Santaluces tops Lake Worth

Dee St Juste rushed for 187 yards and scored two touchdowns, helping Santaluces edge Lake Worth 21-20 in a District 13-7A matchup Friday night.

St. Juste scored on a 52-yard run and a 4-yard pass from Sean Steele for Santaluces (3-2, 2-1).

In the final minute of the game, the Trojans (0-5, 0-2 District 13-7A) scored on a Nigel Caeser fumble recovery in the end zone to pull within a point. Instead of settling for the tie, Lake Worth went for the win and Luis Peguero's two-point conversion pass to Jermer Braswell fell incomplete.

Chedlin Sagesse returned the opening kickoff of the second half 90 yards for a touchdown to give Santaluces a 21-7 lead.

Peguero completed 21 of 33 passes for 275 yards and a touchdown for Lake Worth

Atlantic 40, West Boca Raton 0: Thomas Owens threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles (3-2) routed the Bulls (1-4) in Boca Raton.

After forcing a fumble on the second play of the game, Marcus Gaskin carried the ball 15 yards on the next play for a touchdown to give the Eagles the lead just 47 seconds into the contest. Later on in the first, Owens threw his first touchdown of the night, 14 yards to Wendell Robinson to extend the Eagles' lead to 13-0.

Owens threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jovanis Aris and Jay Mentecky connected with Adly Enoicy for a 28-yard TD. Tevin Spells capped the win with a 6-yard touchdown reception from Mentecky in the fourth quarter.

While the Eagles totaled 274 yards on offense they held West Boca to 41 yards in the first half and 96 for the game.

No. 3 Fort Pierce Central 34,Viera 0: Sam Vaughn rushed for two touchdowns as the Cobras (5-0) coasted past the Hawks (0-5) in Viera.

No. 7 Royal Palm Beach 42, Spanish River 0: Ant McGrew ran for four touchdowns and threw for another, leading the Wildcats (3-1) to the rout of the Sharks (0-6) in Boca Raton.

No. 9 Glades Day 69, Coral Springs Christian 0: Kelvin Taylor ran for 275 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Gators (5-1) to the rout of the Crusaders (2-3) in Coral Springs. Jaime Rodriguez and Rogelio Gomez added rushing touchdowns for the Gators.

Sebastian River 17, No. 10 Olympic Heights 14: Aaron Roberson's 39-yard field goal with 3:16 remaining helped the Sharks (3-2) knock off the Lions (5-1) in Sebastian. Richard Thompson's 49-yard touchdown pass to Deago Sam tied the game for Heights in the third quarter.

Glades Central 47, Suncoast 0: The Raiders (1-4) raced to the victory over the Chargers (2-4) in Belle Glade.

Boynton Beach 38, Fort Pierce Westwood 18: Jake Lutzen threw three touchdown passes to Donte Sylenceux, leading the Tigers (4-2) to the victory over the Panthers (0-5) in Fort Pierce. Jason Hayling had two touchdown runs for Westwood.

South Fork 39, Palm Beach Lakes 0: Lorenz Velasco ran for three touchdowns, leading the Bulldogs (5-0) to the rout of the Rams (1-5) in West Palm Beach.

Okeechobee 38, Forest Hill 28: D.J. Washington's two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns helped the Brahmans (3-3) get past the Falcons (1-5) in West Palm Beach. Shannon Patrick threw for a touchdown and ran for another for Forest Hill.

King's Academy 29, Fort Lauderdale-Calvary Christian 10: A.J. Pasquale threw for 65 yards and had two rushing touchdowns to lead the Lions (3-2) over the Eagles (3-3) in West Palm Beach.

Inlet Grove 40, North Broward Prep 18: Isaiah Cambridge rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns and Jquan Napier threw for 160 yards and two scores to lead the Hurricanes (3-3, 1-0) past the Eagles (3-3) in Coconut Creek.

Jupiter Christian 46, Oxbridge Academy 13: Justin Karlsen threw for 157 yards and ran for three touchdowns, leading the Eagles (2-3) to the win over the Thunderwolves (0-3) in Palm Beach Gardens. Karlsen scored on a pair of 4-yard runs in the first quarter for the Eagles, who led 28-6 at halftime. Jake Capo ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles.

Benjamin 31, LaSalle 30: The Buccaneers (5-1) held off the Royal Lions (4-2) in Miami.

Pope John Paul II 54, St. Andrew's 22: Antonio Carteagena, Bruce Segui and Will Jeanlys each scored two touchdowns as the Eagles (5-1) handled the Scots (1-5) in Boca Raton. Sean Mooney threw a touchdown pass and had a rushing score for St. Andrew's.

Berean Christian 40, Miami-Palmer Trinity 0: Caleb Pinkerman threw three touchdown passes and Chris Mauck added two TD passes as the Bulldogs (4-1) routed the Falcons in Miami.

Clewiston 35, Avon Park 0: Virthavious Robinson rushed for 189 yards and four touchdowns and Lenorris Gaines added a receiving score and an interception as the Tigers (2-3) routed the Red Devils (0-5) in Clewiston.

Treasure Coast 40, Centennial 0: Devin Ferguson ran for three touchdowns and also threw a touchdown pass, leading the Titans (4-1) to the rout of the Eagles (1-4) in Stuart.

John Carroll 28, Fort Lauderdale-Westminster Academy 14: Edwin Thomas ran for two touchdowns and also had a touchdown reception, leading the Rams (4-2) past the Lions (1-5) in Fort Pierce.

Martin County 30, Port St. Lucie 24 (OT): Dan Filhaber rushed for three touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime as the Tigers (2-3) held off a rally by the Jaguars (1-3) in Port St. Lucie. D.J. Juste's two touchdown runs in the fourth quarter helped Port St. Lucie force overtime.

Suncoast d. Olympic Heights 25-5, 25-8, 25-10: Alex Kraissati had 14 service points and six aces and Katie Aucamp added 10 service points and seven aces as the Chargers (7-10) swept the Lions in Boca Raton.
