Palm Beach Post Staff Reports
Vic Adams scored a game-high 21 points, leading top-ranked Dwyer to an 82-49 rout of No. 10 Jupiter on Friday night.
After Jacoby Brissett announced he planned on playing football for the University of Florida, Brissett scored 18 points to help the Panthers
(21-2) to the win. He sat out the fourth quarter.
Dwyer was in control throughout, taking a 24-7 lead after the first quarter.
Bobby Hain (10 points) was the only player in double figures for Jupiter (16-7). Josh Schattie, Jupiter triple-double threat, was held to just two points.

No. 6 John I. Leonard 63, Boynton Beach 36: Giovanni Reyes and Aaron Horne each scored 12 points as the Lancers rolled past the Tigers (1-21) in Boynton Beach. Karl Jannestill scored 12 points for Boynton Beach.
Atlantic 62, No. 7 West Boca Raton 59: Marquale Thomas scored 18 points and Estilus Lahens Jr. added 13 points to help the Eagles upset the Bulls in Boca Raton. Kevin Mungenast had 15 points and four assists and Anthony Anderson added 17 points for West Boca Raton.
No. 8 Santaluces 69, Forest Hill 60: Jeff Romeus had 27 points and seven rebounds to carry the Chiefs (18-6) past the Falcons in Lantana. Valdez Jean-Baptiste scored 15 points, all on three-pointers, and Jephete Anoiser added 14 points for Forest Hill.
Royal Palm Beach 52, Seminole Ridge 48: Talonzo Edwards had 12 points and six rebounds and Anthony Woods added eight points and five rebounds to help the Wildcats (8-17) hold off the Hawks in Royal Palm Beach.
Spanish River 56, Village Academy 44: Reggie Love had 12 points and 12 rebounds to help the Sharks (10-15) beat the Tigers in Boca Raton. Dante Scholl added 16 points and five assists and John Thomas contributed 14 points and five assists for Spanish River. Devonte Robinson scored 11 points and Juan Smith added 10 for Village.
Lake Worth 83, Boca Raton 62: Rigueson Desorvil scored 27 points, leading the Trojans to the win over the Bobcats (9-13) in Boca Raton. McIntosh Pierre-Paul and Nelson Presendieu each added 18 points for Lake Worth. Michael O'Connor scored 19 points for Boca Raton.
Cardinal Newman 70, Wellington Christian 51: Hunter Burnette had 24 points and 15 rebounds and Mike Shockley added 12 to lead the Crusaders (10-11) past the Eagles (21-4) in West Palm Beach. Zach Whitehead scored 26 points and John Saint Juste added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Wellington Christian.
Benjamin 56, Pompano Beach-Highlands Christian 53: Kevin Crescenzi had 16 points and four assists and Brett Rosenthal added 13 points as the Buccaneers (17-6) held off the Knights (16-9) in Pompano Beach.
Glades Central 57, Clewiston 52: Dickerson Joseph had 22 rebounds and 10 blocks and Dewan Stewart added 17 points to lead the Raiders (14-6) past the Tigers in Clewiston. Sheldon Grant contributed 12 rebounds in the victory. Johnny Jackson scored a game-high 21 points for Clewiston.

Mr. Porter, please explain why Josh Schattie was "held" to 2 points in that game (that taunting tech was a joke). That was a travesty of officiating last night. Seems like Jupiter couldnt display any emotion. Now let me clarify, as a neutral party, I dont the outcome or the margin was effected by his techs. But it was unfair for him to be thrown out after making one of the most athletic plays I've seen in high school basketball. He and #4 for both were elbows above the rim on #4's dunk attempted. Schattie went and spanked the ball against the board. Upon landing he looks at his bench and screams. He is given a tech for taunting while directing the scream toward his bench. Considering the ref (who had to run around #4 and other players) and #4 were at Schatties back when he was looking at his bench the tech was outlandish. How can you give a tech for a player screaming at his bench trying to pump his teammates up when you have the worst vantage point being behind numerous players? Also, the other ref who had a better vantage point being that he was on Jupiter's bench side of the court didnt make that call. As I stated before this call had no impact on the game, however it does impact Jupiters district tournament/postseason as Schattie maybe suspended.

Meanwhile, Dwyers players were allowed to question every call (the whole team) and some walked and stared at the refs while they were going to the table to make a call #44 and #15. Also, if Schattie gets a tech for (taunting), how was #23 on Dwyer allowed to at halfcourt and in this order jump, clap, spin (while still in the air), and yell after being call for a foul showing up the ref? This is an automatic tech. There is no consistency in reffing in Palm Beach County. Although I will say it is hard to officiate dwyer during a game because of their baskeball abillity and athleticism but the things they do after the whistle are not hard to officiate.

Does Jupiter ever just accept the fact that they consistantly get over powered by Dwyer which leads to Jupiter players getting ejected for the second year in a row which leads to an early end to their season in the first round of districts, and their fans trying to make excuses for the stupid actions of their players. Hey Anderson it's probably not a good idea to schedule Dwyer the last game before districts. If Since Paxson didn't teach you that lesson last year, hopefully Schattie will this year.

Yeah you're right, maybe Jupiter should just lay down and take the beating from Dwyer just like every other team in the county that plays Dwyer. Or perhaps...get some refs with integrity.

all of you know absolutely nothing about basketball. Do we not sit here and look at dwyers bench and see 2 former refs from 2009 sitting on their bench helping them coach??? This is insane they recruit every single year and no one calls them out on it. I dont understand.
P.s. I AM A JUPITER FAN BUT COACH ANDERSON NEEDS OUT ASAP!!!

To the comments on JHS please do not compare Paxton to Josh Schattie there is a major difference . Josh has a great attitude without any chip on his shoulder, the team all respects him. He is very much a team player, and a outstanding one at that. If you look at any of Josh's previous tapes, you will see the same consistent effort and emotion after every great dunk. The kid is pumped and should be !!! Not only that he's a leader and ever leader will try there very best and will show emotion . He is not taunting.
Its just one great kid "doing his thing".
Oh by the way you got the stats wrong Josh wasn't held too two points, he just could shoot after being through out of the game unnecessarily.

Jupiter was feeling pretty good about themselves Thursday night when they were on the opposite end of a beat down - drubbing tiny Jupiter Christian by 30+, starters playing most of the 4th quarter, still shooting 3s until the final buzzer. Jupiter is well-coached and they have some good players, but last year's team was better. I look for an early exit from the District tourney and the usual "wait until next year".

The Schattie/Paxson comparison is ridiculous to anyone that has seen both of them play. Paxson was a ballhog who whined his way into a well-deserved reputation as a spoiled brat across the state. Schattie is a hardworking, unselfish teammate who plays with real heart and passion on the floor. There is no doubt in my mind that if not for Paxson's antics during last year's game, the technicals never would have been called this year. It would be a travesty if Schattie was unable to finish his career on the court in the playoffs. The districts shouldn't punish a player for the transgressions of his former teammate. Let Schattie play!

Jupiter Christian has been talking smack ever since the JCS/Jupiter game was finalized on the schedule. The forum on this site about the game is full of some really ugly trash talk. I believe that Jupiter scored 28 points in the first quarter even after pulling out the starters later in the same quarter. They didn't run up the score in the least, otherwise it would have been in the triple digits. If anyone had it coming it was JCS. Also, you must be confused on what sport we are talking about. Jupiter has won the 6A District 9 Basketball Championship two out of the last three years, arguably only losing last year because their best player had to sit out of the playoffs. This is Jupiter basketball we are talking about, not the ever underachieving football team.

These posts are about as typical of JHS as it comes. The biggest whiners in the county.
You got your lunch handed to you and now you're crying about it. That's what is the same as always, even last year.
And yes, for a school of over 3,000 students with a strong youth sports org feeding into it, JHS is an underachieving school and it's in all of the Programs. Winning districts is rare for you, doing something beyond districts would be new for you.

Funny that you mention Jupiter's feeder program because Dwyer basketball has the best feeder programs. They feed off of the best sophmores and juniors from each school in PBC and one in Martin County...

Stop picking on Josh- he is a good player and may have been wronged with the call. Jupiter has quality players they may not have been able to bring home a win, but could have played a more respectable game. This is all on the Coach-

If only Anderson had taken his own advice and removed Schattie from the game after the FIRST Tech this would not have happened. You see, Coach Anderson has a rule that if you get a tech you are automatically removed from the game for the remainder of that game. only problem is...he does NOT follow through on his best players. This has happened now two years in a row. In last years fiasco JHS was ahead without Paxton in the game at the half. They did not even need Paxton to win that game but he still put him back in! Its time to remove this coach. Coach Anderson is an embarassment to JHS and his team.
Josh Schattie playing the entire game would NOT have affected the outcome of the Dwyer game. Dwyer was throwing around the JHS players like they were rag dolls. Stealing the ball from JHS was like stealing candy from a baby WAY TOO EASY!!!! Now we have parents whining about the ejection and the suspension from the district games. BLAME IT ON POOR COACHING AGAIN.

Please get your facts straight. As someone very close to Andersen's program at Jupiter I can assure you that no 'First Tech' rule exists. Also, Schattie was ejected early in the second quarter, and while yes Jupiter was losing at the time, in no way could you have said the game was out of hand. It becomes considerably easier to get steals when Jupiter's best guard was removed before halftime. On a side note, I found your word choice revealing. "Dwyer throwing around the JHS players like they were rag dolls" is a good representation on how much the whistles were being blown in Dwyer's favor....
