Palm Beach Post Staff Reports
With a 10-0 rout of Clewiston on Friday night, Cardinal Newman coach Jack Kokinda earned his 700th career victory as coach of the Crusaders.
Kokinda is in his 41st season as Newman coach.
Jack English pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run to lead the Crusaders (7-16).
Clewiston fell to 8-10 on the season.
No. 5 Dwyer 12, Forest Hill 2 (6): Tim Lynch hit three home runs and drove in five runs and Brad Borosak was 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI as the Panthers (15-7) powered past the Falcons in Palm Beach Gardens. Bradley Emery was 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the win.
No. 9 Atlantic 8, Royal Palm Beach 4: Joe Morrison had a home run and Spencer Kasmere was 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Eagles (11-12) over the Wildcats in Delray Beach.
No. 10 American Heritage 4, King's Academy 2: Josh Glick hit a two-run home run as the Stallions (18-3) defeated the Lions (15-8) in West Palm Beach. Trevor Maloney was 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base for American Heritage. Ryan Krantz hit a two-run home run for King's Academy.
John I. Leonard 10, Lake Worth 3: Chris Alicea was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBI and Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and four RBI to lead the Lancers (13-11) over the Trojans in Lake Worth.
Seminole Ridge 12, Suncoast 2 (5): Courtney King was 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored and Kenny Miranda was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Hawks (15-9) rolled past the Chargers in Riviera Beach.
Spanish River 15, Palm Beach Lakes 1 (5): Josh Cohen was 2-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored and Josh Brami went 2-for-3 with three runs scored as the Sharks (12-12) routed the Rams in Boca Raton. David Burt was 3-for-3 with three runs scored for Spanish River.
Jupiter Christian 9, Benjamin 7 (8): Tony Ballew was 3-for-4 with the game winning two-run home run and Brandon Cormier pitched a complete game with six strikeouts to lead the Eagles (5-16) past the Buccaneers at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. D.J. Paone was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI for Benjamin.
St. Andrew's 16, Glades Central 0: Tim Stoops pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and was 2-for-2 with an RBI as the Scots (17-4) powered past the Raiders in Boca Raton.
Wellington Christian 11, Lake Worth Christian 5: Nick Potenza was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored to lead the Eagles (8-9) to a victory over the Defenders in Wellington.
