STILL WATCHING commented on December 23, 2012 at 8:06 a.m.: report abuse

My, my, my what has happened to the PBGardens basketball program. Before Arbogast was given back the program PBGardens was ranked in the state and was in position to win the district title every year. I would attend the games and the students were there cheering and in full support. I decided to go and watch Gardens play Central and the stands were empty and the parents were very disappointed in the program. I was really amazed at what I saw throughout the game. Coach Arbogast spends more time fussing with the officials then he does talking to his kids and that was evident when the Gators only scored two yes two points in the fourth quarter. I just read what Coach Arbogast said to the reporter after the Wellington game. He stated that "our kids are playing with no heart." I don't agree with that but I do agree with his "BETTER COACHED" statement. I know I'm on the outside looking in but if Principal Clawson won't relieve you of your duties Coach Arbogast you should consider resigning and allowing some new blood to revive this program.

I was at Gardens with Arbo when he was our coach. Me and my friends use to talk about the things that he use to do and say to our basketball friends. I was upset when I heard they were going to let him coach again. The same thing that happened back then is going to happen again. Because of Arbo Dwyer became a basketball power house and we could never beat them. Now that Arbo is back Lakes is now the team to beat. Many of the middle school kids that wanted to go to Gardens did not want to play for Arbo so they are playing for Lakes and winning games. I hope the principal is seeing what we are seeing and Gardens being 0-8 is very embarrassing to the Gator Family. QUIT Arbo - QUIT

Coach Arbogast is a good coach who has been doing this a long time. It's true that the season thus far hasn't been a successful one. But everyone shouldn't rush to blame the coach. It's not like he all of a sudden forgot about basketball. The team has a lot of small guards and no true big players. A lot of the upperclassmen and returning players simply haven't played well.

Dwyer's rise has a lot more to do with players being able to use NCLB and loopholes in the magnet programs to transfer. And now that the NCLB option is no longer available, you've seen Dwyer fall to the middle of the pack again. Dwyer has had players leave their program recently, but no one blames that on Coach Ross. Lakes is great this year because they have a bunch of good players who happened to come around at the same time and live in the school zone.

Gardens will be better in years to come. People need to give coach a break. It's not his fault when senior guards throw the ball away. He's telling the truth when he says the team lacks heart.

Coach Arbo was the best coach that ever coached me. He teaches you hard work. The three years he coached me, was years i learned that he was not going to give it to me. i had to earn it, every practice, game and in the class room. He teaches you to be a man before a player. Gardens is not losing because of the coaching, trust me i know. their losing because they dont practice hard enough or work on their game individually. i was at the Wellington game, Wellington handled them, like it was tooooooooo easy. Brandon Stevens was the second leading scorer on the team last year. He barely scored 5 pts this game. Gardens has 6 seniors, you telling me its the coaching. No its the seniors, they need to get serious and step up. They are making Arbo look bad. I dont like that, i know Arbo, he probably is getting no sleep. Sad start season for Gardens players
