Boys basketball: No. 9 Wellington handles Palm Beach Central

Stephon Gordon had 20 points and 11 rebounds, leading ninth-ranked Wellington to a 62-46 victory over Palm Beach Central in Wellington on Friday night.

Dondre Duffus added 14 points and six assists for the visiting Wolverines (14-5).

Javierre Betts scored 17 points for the Broncos.

No. 1 Grandview Prep 89, Miami-Westwood Christian 77: Ivan Canete tallied 36 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists and Sean Walsh added 16 points and seven rebounds as the Pride (16-0) defeated Warriors in Boca Raton.

No. 3 St. Andrew's 66, Lincoln Park Academy 55: Jovan Lawson scored 19 points and Asil Kalkavan grabbed 11 rebounds as the Scots (14-2) beat the Greyhounds in Fort Pierce. Roderick Reaves scored 23 points for Lincoln Park.

No. 4 Lake Worth 69, West Boca Raton 67: Julian Martin scored 18 points and Kenny Chien added 16, but the Bulls (4-11) fell to the Trojans in Boca Raton.

No. 6 Atlantic 63, Olympic Heights 31: Thomas Owens had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Jacques Marcelin added nine points and eight rebounds as the Eagles (12-5) rolled over the Lions in Delray Beach.

No. 7 Summit Christian 69, Pope John Paul II 51: Shane Phillips had 23 points, eight assists and eight rebounds and Dante Lewis added 12 points and 14 rebounds as the Saints (13-5) defeated the Eagles in Boca Raton. Kevin Johnston led Pope John Paul II with 22 points.

Dwyer 64, Palm Beach Gardens 55: Alex Davis scored 15 points as the Panthers beat the Gators (1-14) in Palm Beach Gardens. Brandon Stevens scored 24 points for Gardens.

Boca Raton 83, John I. Leonard 74: Max McKee had 29 points and 13 rebounds and Mike O'Conner added 18 points as the Bobcats (7-9) beat the Lancers in Boca Raton.

Benjamin 66, Jupiter Christian 37: Isaiah Hobbs scored 19 points and Jon Pavlov added 15 points and 11 rebounds as the Buccaneers (10-6) routed the Eagles in Jupiter.

Cardinal Newman 62, Inlet Grove 58: John Collins recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds and Kyle Cunningham added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as the Crusaders (9-5) held off the Hurricanes (6-9) in West Palm Beach. Junior Bellegarde scored 17 points for Inlet.

Park Vista 57, Spanish River 50: Jeffrey Dezmezyer had 16 points and six rebounds and Brandon Kemmerer added 13 points and 12 rebounds, but the Sharks (11-5) fell to the Cobras (11-6) in Boca Raton.

Glades Day 57, Oxbridge Academy 50: Jonathon Leon scored 12 points as the Gators held off the Thunderwolves (9-5) in Belle Glade. Zach Shell scored 19 points for Oxbridge.

Berean Christian 49, Fort Lauderdale-Calvary Christian 40: Austin Skelton scored 22 points and Charles Howell added 10 points and six assists as the Bulldogs (12-3) defeated the Eagles in Fort Lauderdale.

Lake Worth Christian 52, Boca Raton Christian 51: R.J. Walsh scored 25 points and Heber Michel added 12 points and 10 rebounds, but the Blazers (11-5) were nipped by the Defenders in Boca Raton.

FAU High 34, Wellington Christian 26: Sheldon Scott scored 20 points as the Owls beat the Eagles (5-11) in Wellington.

Pompano Beach-Highlands Christian 59, Trinity Christian 49: K'Von Humphrey had 15 points and 13 rebounds and Raniel Lagoc added 11 points, but the Warriors (1-13) fell to the Knights in Lake Worth.
