Basketball: Park Vista boys upset No. 3 Atlantic

Park Vista's effective handling of Atlantic's full-court pressure helped the Cobras to 58-41 upset of the third-ranked Eagles Friday night in Boynton Beach.

Keith Dow scored a game-high 21 points and Yephnick Adelphonse added 12 points for Park Vista (6-4).

Sophomore standout Jamal Palmer paced Atlantic (6-3) with 20 points.

No. 4 Jupiter 48, Dwyer 37: Michael Edgley scored 19 points as he led the Warriors to victory over the Panthers (3-6) in Palm Beach Gardens. Cedrick Quince scored 12 points and Alex Davis grabbed nine rebounds for Dwyer.

No. 6 St. Andrew's 73, West Boca Raton 53: Jovan Lawson scored 20 points and George Andino added 17 points as the Scots (9-1) beat West Boca Raton in the St. Andrew's Holiday Classic in Boca Raton.

No. 7 Lake Worth 51, Tallahassee-Rickards 46: Eno Pierre-Louis had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Erin Horne added 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Trojans (10-1) stopped the Raiders at the Tallahasee Capital City Classic.

No. 8 Royal Palm Beach 68, Palm Beach Central 51: Tivaughn Brown had seven points and eight rebounds and Travis Weatherington added 12 points as the Wildcats (7-2) stopped the Broncos in Royal Palm Beach.

Berean Christian 66, Benjamin 65: Charles Howell scored 25 points and hit the game-winning shot as the host Bulldogs (10-3) edged the Buccaneers in the Christmas in the Kennel tournament in West Palm Beach. Howell also contributed 15 assists and Dean Hendricks grabbed 20 rebounds for Berean.

Seminole Ridge 52, Okeechobee 35: Luke Miller had 28 points and 19 rebounds as the Hawks (3-8) defeated the Brahmans at the Christmas in the Kennel Tournament in West Palm Beach. Eddie Neal scored 13 points for Okeechobee.

Cardinal Newman 60, Glades Day 42: Andrew Owers scored 16 points, John Collins added eight points and 11 rebounds and Terry Hudson contributed 13 points and six rebounds as the Crusaders (5-4) handled the Gators (3-5) in Belle Glade.

Pahokee 72, Jupiter Christian 51: Jaleek Mitchell had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Antone Paige added six points and 10 rebounds as the Blue Devils (6-3) handled the Eagles in Pahokee.

Summit Christian 67, Key West 30: Shane Phillips had 17 points and seven steals as the Saints (7-4) earned the easy win in West Palm Beach.

GIRLS

Benjamin 46, Berean Christian 27: Riley Burke and Arden Petit each scored 14 points and Carly White added 10 as the Buccaneers (8-5) downed the host Bulldogs at the Christmas in the Kennel Tournament in West Palm Beach.

Seminole Ridge 64, Okeechobee 19: Kelli Lees had 11 points, seven steals, and seven assists and Kaitlin O'Hara added 21 points and four steals as the Hawks routed the Brahmans (10-6) at the Christmas in the Kennel Tournament in West Palm Beach.

Boca Raton 38, Pompano Beach-Ely 32: Jackie Stobis scored 12 points and Abby Bukovich added 10 as the Bobcats (4-10-4) held off the Tigers at the Krop Holiday Classic in Miami.

Cardinal Newman 53, Glades Day 17: Danielle Dixon had 10 points and four rebounds, but Gators (5-4) fell to the Crusaders (7-6) in Belle Glade.

St. Andrew's 54, Fort Lauderdale-Pine Crest 35: Allie Russo scored 12 points and Melonie Brombie added 14 rebounds as the Scots (11-2) handled the Panthers in Boca Raton.
