Good luck to you coach. I'm glad to see you're still there. I enjoyed coaching with you, Mack, Lawson, Lionel, Giles, and Thompson. Learned a lot about coaching from you. I see Travis is turning out just fine. Good for him and his parents. Hope all the guys are doing well.

This school goes through highs and then lows they are a 4-4 team right now which isnt great but its better then what happened last year and the year before that. So I dont think Monroe is goin to get fired but as fans and humans we need something to blame, so we go to the head coach as a scape goat which is fine in the end Monroe is going to be just fine he just takes what he hears and blanks it out because he knows what he is doing is work so we didnt get the win against royal palm it happens. Coach is doin fine and the kids are playin good football take the blame guys and use it on Lake Worthless next week.

At Alum know 1 has anything aganist daulton or marlin both of these guys are good friends and cant nothing come between that and was monroe the coach when you were here where are you now i bet not in college monroe has been messing up with the team since i got here at jil and daulton and marlin will do there thing on friday every 1 always want to put jil down but we gooder than good

You guys are right on the spot but I will say that Monroe was and is not the current problem....He does not call any of the plays so why are we bashing him? yeah a change need to be made but what change need to be made? Because we had some good kids this year that should have played a little better this year. But my son would be returning this year at least through the spring and we will decide from there... because he really believe in his position coach and attachment to his teammates so I will ask him after the spring of what he want to do but a change has to be made

Let me say something to every body that has an part or child that plays for monroe he dont need to be head coach next season.I drove all the way to the playoffs to see this want to be coach let his season go down the drain they ran the same play all night long as if bayside couldnt read the play. i coach little leauge football and have better sense then that he him and the rest of the coaches was smart they would continued running the screen play i think they ran that 1 time with the running back 24 and the kid gained yards from that play they could of killed bayside with that all night long then on top of that he takes 24 out of the game man are you serious my son is a back for jil or shall i say was a back for jil

The coaching staff at JIL pour a TREMENDOUS amount of time, energy and effort in to the team. To blame them for the players going out and BLOWING the game on the field is unfair and unfounded. No matter how good or bad a coach is, if the players play with no HEART they are going to lose. The players no matter how well or bad they are coached are the ones who actually go out on the field and win or lose the game. Last I checked not one coach dropped a ball, missed a tackle or chocked in the last minutes of the game. Once the coach calls the play, execution is all on the players and just showing up with pads on does not win the game.
The students who are commenting when is the last time you made an effort to be in the weight room during off season conditioning or made a genuine and committed effort to remain eligible by showing up to school and doing what you are supposed to do in terms of your grades in the classroom and your behavior all the time. How many of you show up to practice on time and ready to learn and be coached. Some of you are so quick to blame the coaching staff but some of the players are not coachable. Either you have no attention span or have no heart for the game or worse their parents have made them believe they are made for the highlight reel and don’t need to practice. Those are the players who show up and make the committed hardworking players and coaches look a mess on Friday night. If half the parents who are commenting put a 1/4 of the effort into supporting the team and staff instead of hiding behind an alias and whining about their child and playing Tuesday morning quarterback, we would be celebrating winning state as we speak. You were sick of seeing those plays because the players could not execute those simple plays. In order to play a different play the players have to run the simple plays right which requires showing up to practice. I see comments on students like Q and a couple of others who you feel should have went D1, you blame the coaches for not getting them in to college but half of them getting in is on them to do right in school and be coachable. But have you questioned them about what they did or for that matter didn’t do. The answer to that is that you didn’t it was easier to blame somebody. However I digress, because it is above some of the posters on this forum to be able to accept responsibility yet alone understand what it is. I love the fact that everyone likes to bash but NO ONE wants to be responsible for what they did or did not do.
The last time I checked preparation goes a long way into, how you will go out on the field and perform. How many of you commenting can say that you have given a one hundred percent effort to support the team by showing up for more than just the game on Friday night. A football team is made up of more than just the Staff who coach the team. -
@JIL FAN u can sit here and talk a sore in your mouth the best coaches on jil this year was powell the moreland brothers and giles nobody this year havent talked about going 2 a d1 school if it wasnt for coach trent the seniors that are going off to college is going because of his help not with monroe help and they call the same plays all year long every team we played knew exactly what the kids where going to run the entire 6years monroe coached at jil this was the 1st time he made it to the play offs let alone got through any district games he need to be let go and let 1 of the moreland brothers be head coach or better yet coach hall need to be head coach and for the kids having talent and knowing the game 1st of all they put these kids where they eant them to play when it should be where the kid knows where to play at look at wiile felton for instance they put him at receiver when he dropped dand near evey ball that was thrown to him reason being when he played at glades the kid played safety or quater back so yes jil has had poor coaching for a 6 years you had 1 of the most talented players when Q played for jil and monroe still didnt make play offs or couldnt win any games

Why do you consistantly hide behind fake names? What we did this year was great. It's ok to think that certain coaches are better but who do you think brought these coaches together MONROE! Look you may think it took a while for us to make it to the playoffs but we did it so why complain? Coach monroe knows what he's doing at our program. All I gotta say is Coach Monroe was one of the best coaches I had. He puts his heart and soul into that team. Im sorry but most of the football players play half ass anyway. You can coach someone all you want but if they are not putting to use what they are learning then, its their fault not the coaches! so all you haters can suck it!!!!!

Being a coach in PB County for a couple of years now, I can tell you it doesnt get much better than Monroe. It's more about X's and O's at this level. He's producing MEN and making sure they have a chance in this world. I'd take a losing season to have 10 players get scholarships and better their lives. Everytime I see Coach, he's got something positive to say or going on.
You dont know how lucky you guys are to have him.

Its not us players it the coaches. Coach Monroe tries to make everything positive. The rest of the coaches should stick to coaching at lake lydol. Becouse they don't know what there doing and its there fault we lost Friday to palm beach dental. We have been practicing a certain kind of kick return for 3 weeks. And coach denson waits until 30 minutes before the game and changes it. They went out there and turned the ball and he still didn't put the return team that have gotten the job done for weeks.

Coach Monroe is one of the greatest men I have gotten to know through the eyes of my child. He gives his love and support to not only his football players but to each and every student that walks the halls of John I. Leonard. My child would not be where she is today if not for him. Yes he can be a little tough at times but it's only because he loves them and wants to see each and every one of them succeed. I can't begin to thank him for all he has done for my child over the last 4yrs.

You are right mom, my son is a senior this year and Monroe has gone beyond for my son the four years he has been there and a part of the team. I still will support and come to every game i can possibly make next year to see the young guys we have this year with more experience next year. The game last night was a good way to finish the season on a high, that offense this game had you standing up every time they took the feild those guys make some great plays out there but I think next year some of those offensive guys needs to play defense to bring that same winning spirit over there but in the end I enjoyed this year and expect big things in the future.

Another season has come and gone . I am proud of the 2012 lancers not the season you guys wanted but many fun memories. To the senoirs keep your heads in the books, to finish strong in school. To Keymoni You have been an great game changer with plenty of upside keep your head up. To Jailen put this year in your rear view mirror and begin to get ready for College, to the rest of the team you guys have been nothing but a joy to watch. To Monroe please go and spends some time at a coaching camp what you had on that team any coach would have dreamed for, and you did nothing with it. To the rest of the Coaches good job and lets get ready for next year.
