There is no one better in the county then Kelvin Taylor. Boy will hold almost every record in the state when he finishes his high school career. Tell me who's better then Bay Bay from the Muck!

Do not no if it's true but I hear he isn't that fast and he is big and runs upright. He is still young but right at this point Tre Mason at Park Vista would be my pick. The kid out at Sem Ridge Gary Holmes I hear alot a good about him too and he is young. Once again I don't know if it's true, I saw Kelvin play on TV at states last year and he ran over everybody, but that was Glades Day and they are not to be mistaken for Glades Central.

Tre Mason is a fine running back and will have a fine college career. Kelvin is at an entirely different level. There's not a single major D1 program that hasnt contacted Pete Walker about him. As far fast he's a legit 4.5 but as Ed Orgeron said at last years Tennessee camp, "Kelvin Taylor may well be the best HS RB I've ever seen , there's noone that can make the cuts that he does and he's only a Freshman".

When its all said in done Kelvin will be the most recruited RB to ever come out of PBC. Tre's a fine RB and will do well in college however if he was in Belle Glade he would be Kelvin's back up..

You will have to watch out for a kid at The Kings Academy. Will be a junior next year and really can fly great runner in between the tackles and when he hits the corner he is gone. I believe he runs between 4.3 and 4.4 40 and is strong as a ox and that program is going to be tuff next two years. I know Kelvin comes from all pro stock and no doubt he is really good. I like the fact that he is not school jumping like a lot of kids do even though sometimes i understand you need to be in the right fit. When that is the case where you start you should stay and so far his parents have kept him st Glades. Great history there and coach. Watch out for The Kings Academy though they are developing a nice class from Coach Dobson, who has been around a long time and this year his upcoming Junior class is really Athletic and he has added two nice coaches for his quarterback and running backs and db's. They play Glades every year and it is always a battle. Kelvin is a good player and it will be fun to watch him against them and others as American Heritage and Jupiter Christian. That will be good test for him this year and when you get going with the rest of their schedule it will be great stuff. Don't know the Tre Mason young man, but looks like he is the real deal as well.

Right NOW it is hands down Tre Mason. Funny how observer says don't know who Tre is. He is the premier running back in Palm Bch County and right here-right now he is #1. Private school football is good football but when a superior athlete such as Kelvin Taylor plays at that level, hands down he is above 1-A,1-B talent. Park Vista and Tre Mason would put a pretty good thump on the likes of the teams mentioned by Observer. Kelvin Taylor may well be the best back but he does not play against the best competition, therefore I can think of 2-3 other backs I would put ahead of Kelvin at this point in time.

To At this point in time. I haven't had a chance to see Tre play. When Eddie Sullivan played there I followed P.V. a little more. What grade is he in? Maybe I can catch a game with Vista this year. I like the team and see there are in the thick of things each year. I know the bigger schools have a lot of depth and more to choose from, but it would be fun to see a match up with your team and upcoming kings, glades day, and American heritage. I know that would tuff, but they would scrap pretty good. I know it wouldn't happen though because of logistics and what you need to do to prepare for your season. Good luck to you and look forward to seeing a game.

Tre Mason Tre Mason Tre Mason. Tre Mason hasnt won anything. Last years Glades Days team would have pounded Park Vista. Kelvin would have had a usual 200 yard game and scored 4 or 5 TD. Mason wouldnt even have been able to get out of the backfield. Now Tre might be the best back in his "class" but he is no how no way better than Kelvin. He is the #1 player in Palm Beach County and maybe even the state. Kelvin already has 78 career TD's. How many does Tre Mason have? I dont know. But I can sure tell you this, Tre Mason WILL NOT set ANY records in the state books.

see what people really don't get is kelvin is good but not great....yet. The reason he did so good last year was because of his line. That line down at glades day is excellent and they really did most of the work for kelvin. I'm not saying kelvin is bad but i've seen him play and what he beats people with is his speed and rarely cuts.

If Glades Day was to play Park Vista or almost any 6-A team around they would get pounded. Smoke another one fool!

Kelvin Taylor is Glades Day whole team. His avg. carries per game was 37 touches.
Avg HS offensive plays is 48 per game. Remember who Earl Campbell is, probably not. He was one of the best running backs ever to play football but had to retire early cuz he carried the ball 40 time a game and he took a beatin. Kelvin needs to transfer NOW Fred or else he will be worn out by college.

Yo Chenzo, I highly disagree. Glades Day and Jupiter Christian would have played with and beaten alot of PBC 6a teams. Jupiter Christian gave GC more of a game than PBC, Boca, and RPB. Seminole Ridge seems scared to schedule any of the big dawgs. Both Glades Day and Jupiter Christian are well coached. Really the only difference is that the big schools have a bigger pool of players to pull from. 6a football is competitive in PBC but none of these teams made any noise in the playoffs last year. IMO Jupiter Christian and Glades Day would have beat Park Vista last year. A big reason for this is heart. Vista was a embarrasment last year with the way some of their players conducted themselves on the field. Alot of talk that they couldn't back up.

Throughout the entire season including playoffs Kelvin averaged 20 carries a game. Oh by the get this! said Kevins strength is in his ability to cut on a dime not his straight line speed.

Not to talk smack or degrade anyone, buit I would give more credit to tre mason. The kid plays harder more established teams. I know The gators won states and all, but still, that football doesnt compare to the football at the 6A level, I think Tre could put up the same or even better numbers if he played the teams Kelvin played

Kelvin Taylor is not the best in the county, he was scared to play against the big boys when PBG came to play them this spring, which is why he had a little knee ache. Kelvin is good, but not on Tre Masons level or the best in the county. Once Kelvin establishes himself against a big school then he will earn more respect. If Kelvin was so real he would be at Glades Central not a 1B school. But if he went to GC we wouldnt be the star because GC has the real athletes like Kelvin Benjamin who is a real star, and destroyes any school.

Alright slim shady, How are you going to hate on a kid who put up those numbers as a 8th and 9th grader. Please Kelvin is better than any back GC currently has. Kelvin Benjamin is very good. Kelvin Taylor if he stays healthy will be a legend.

Plant (Tampa, Fla.) two-way standout James Wilder enters the summer as the No. 1 football recruit in the Class of 2011, according to MaxPreps and CBS Sports recruiting analyst Tom Lemming. Wilder, a linebacker and running back, was a dominant force on both sides of the ball for Plant, which captured the Florida 5A state title in 2009.

    No- Tre Mason

You can't name a sophmore to be that is better than kelvin Taylor. He have more TD's then james wilder who is going to be senior in the fall,by the time kelvin get to he's senior year he will be one of the greatest high school players ever in the country if not the best.

    COMPETITION said:

    3 months, 1 week ago

You have to consider the competition that Kelvin Taylor plays against at Glades Day. James Wilder plays for Tampa Plant, one of the best teams in the state!!!
If GD and Plant played, Plant would win by 20-30 points. Taylor plays against week competition, while Wilder plays against some of the best.

    Bigdawg61 said:

Just because he plays against weaker competition doesnt make Taylor a lesser back. Obviously Max preps thought enough of Kelvin to name him Freshman of the year as well as 3rd team All American. Not bad considering theres 160k RB playing HS football every year. You boys need to quit being soo jealous of the kid.

@ Football Fan, by the time he is a Senior he'll be in the same boat as Kelvin Benjamin @ Galdes too old for High School Football. He's a great RB, period. But please dont use his grade as an argument. He's older than Tre and most RB's in the county and country.

  • flag

    Bigdawg61 said:

Being older doesn't necessarily equate to game experience. Kelvins played in half the games Tre has. By the way it is true that Kelvin will be 19 his senior season however it'll be late spring before he's 19yrs and 9mos.

    HuH said:

What? He will be 19 & 9 late spring in his senior year? Does that mean after he graduates or he will be ineligble for his senior year? Just wondering, I'm sure both of those kids played little league football of some sorts. If he is older than Tre he has probably played more than Tre. I hope they both do well, stay in them books young fella!
