Cardinal Newman football is riding high after shocking all of Palm Beach County with a runaway win in the Rising Stars Palm Beach County Shootout this past weekend.
With superior performances from Seniors, Joseph Finn at WR and OLB, Shane Osborne-TE, Troy Campana-RB/receiver, and underclassmen, Brad Benes-QB, and Xavier Swinton-WR Cardinal Newman football has sent a message to opponents to watch out.

I agree with the truth! Cardinal Newman has great potential this year.. They have an epicable senior class! and their line even tho undersized is a force to be reckoned with this season with players Like Stanley Tucker, Sean Ganon, and Gabe Issasi they take a back seat to no1 as far as heart and want are concern, also players like Philip Stenz and Jason Ballastero Cardinal Newmans "men in the trenches" play on both sides of the football. Now newmans one weak point is at Will linebacker because from what i have heard there is no1 to complement Philip Stenz, Joe Finn and Jason Ballestero but look for newmans defense to rank high in the county this year! i for one expect big things!!!

Damilio had a pretty good game against Boynton leading the linebackers in tackles.
The pressure came right up the middle on offense and everyone knows it .Game film doesn't hype.

and isassi is half the size of gannon soo possibly.. And For sure Trey Tucker (another defensive linemen) the boy easily could be playing linebacker in my view! -
What was the outcomeof the game? 21-0 i believe and i'm sure the score could have easily been 40-0..so if i was playing for Boynton I would not talk trash about another teams player(s) who beat u badly..Thanks Goon next time check the scoreboard before you open your mouth about other players

I agree with Newman Dad...Damilio had a good game with a fumble recovery and leading the DEFENSE in tackles not just the linebackers. Plus a shut-out

I thought newman looked fantastic, we will be great this year i cant wait to watch all the games, im a anonomys freshman with a passion for football, all the players loocked great!! including Brent Damilio and JOhn Hickman, although Hickman didnt get much play i belive he will do great in the upcoming season!! All the saders need is ryan burke back and youll be a complete team letssssss gooooo

Haha, we definitely do not need Ryan Burke back. That kid had frickin alligator arms, and he was scared to even try for a ball if any defender was in a 5 yard radius. Newman is off to a good start this year by pulling off two wins, being the underdog in both games. All I'm saying is that I think that Newman is going to surprise many people this season.

Bidness...not sure why ur trashing ryan burke..he led team in receiving 2 yrs in a row and if I'm not mistaken, is playing at Lehigh univ now..one of best schools in country..isn't that what it's all about?? football helping to get good education..also, his little brother matt is saders leading receiver already..say he's 6'5" soph te and will be real deal...just needs reps..plays behind sr shane osborne who is terrific young man too and top player ...walsh has this team heading in right direction faster than anyone thought...stop hatin on peep and enjoy return of CN football to respectability..

Old timer, bidness is right. Ryan was good to have, but on newmans running offense, he hardly got the ball. Whenever he did, more than half the time, it was dropped. It's not entirely his fault though, if they did practice more with him, he could have been more developed. It's a shame though that he was injured at Lehigh...But we can't dwell on the past, Newman is off to a very good start this year. With new quarterbacks Brett and Will, Newman is going to surprise many this season, and I can't wait to witness it go down!

listen here matt burke had one catch from brett Bennes late in the 4th if it werent for that he didnt even get in the game.....all im sayin ismatt is ok and his brother is TERRIBLE....but once newman gets it all goin good without the early season mistakes...watchout Pahokee, Kings, and NB......

Here we are at another Friday night of Cardinal Newman football earning respectability one win at a time. A bunch of Rising Seniors with a team of big-hearted kids who refuse to lose. This team plays with integrity and strength. Always undersized but never outplayed. They will go to work tonight against Forest Hill HS and get ready for

All you are going to get from me is the Truth and the truth is that Brent Demilio, Tre Tucker, Shane Osborne and the other seniors on this team are playing out of their minds!!! The things that this group do go mostly unnoticed by people who are not students of the game. Week in and week out these kids come out and handle their business. My hat is off to all of you -

are in deed handling their business on the field this year and the future is definately bright for Newman football because of them. Giving props to the Senior leadership on this team is the right thing to do. Senior like Isasi, Tucker, Stentz, and Demilio, Megrath, Finn, Osborne and a few more I did not mention, may not be catching 50 yard touchdown passes and taking interviews on the news but their contributions are to many to mention. People that have been around this team and know football, know what the Seniors mean to this team and their success. Newman will go as far as the Seniors take them this year and in years to come. -

Tough loss for Newman this past Friday. While University school is a tough opponent,
the game was Newman's to win. Maintaining intensity, good special teams play, and not turning the ball over are crucial when two teams are so evenly matched.Hats off to University, they came out and did what needed to be done to win.
Newman will bounce back in two weeks for their homecoming game

It's been said " A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step". Cardinal Newman took their first step a few short months ago, when they shocked Palm Beach County by coming out of nowhere to win the Palm Beach County Shootout. The journey continued tonight with a epic performance on both sides of the ball in the Three team Shootout for district runner-up. After bending but not breaking on the defensive side of the ball, Cardinal took the ball on their own ten and drove 60 yards to set up a field goal to win it, with no time on the clock. Let it be said; that in every chest of every Cardinal Newman player, beats the heart of a CHAMPION no matter the final chapter. No regrets Boys, always leave it all on the field. Congratulations on the big win.
