Seems like SA players are coming back home to team Flo. Whats up? Are they ignoring their coaches requests to boycott Goldberg? Smart boys.
You may not need Jeff Goldberg...but our SA boys definitely do! Please stop the bashing...this is a free country and we are allowed to do what we want. And what we want is Coach G back!
I am an SA parent and my son plays lax and I definitely do not want him back...glad he is gone!!
Did not realize Coach G posted on here...
I agree...some SA families may want him back...many people/players/families not happy with CP...but in no way do we want Coach Goldberg back! Accepting applications!!
money issues aside
what was so bad about Goldberg???
he did win 14 state championships. what's the problem?
I thought Dawson was head coach. is he any good?
what's the the problem with CP. ? doesn't he just over see it.
SA administration will do what they think is best. They don't care what you think and many of us think it was a mistake that Goldberg was asked to leave in the first place.
The rest of you naysayers-for the love of Pete give the guy a break-don't play at his camps if you dont want to pay for it. Take lessons somewhere else. PS-Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in America-People that know the game are running camps and clinics in order to grow the sport,do something they love and make a living. High school coaches everywhere are doing this -College coaches do it also. Stop being so juvenile and vindictive.
JG went after the Pinecrest job...3 different times in the past year...if he was so "great" why did he not get it?? Even had a major PC donor in his corner - walked out of last interview when he realized he was not getting his way...reason is if
you are not drinking his kool-aid you will see his shenanigans with clear eyes - he is not all he is cracked up to be and some of his antics are downright harmful.
JG is to travel lacrosse what Rich Hofman is to south florida travel baseball. After years of growing the game they both are only in it now for the MONEY. High priced travel teams and camps and showcases.
Parents don't spend your money there are many other options out there. BE VERY CAREFUL. The best USED CAR SALESMAN in Florida.
@ Boca Laxer - you're just jealous because his teams always whipped everyone. Say what you want but results speak for themselves...state championships plus his kids got recruited to elite schools/programs. How's that program been recently...no 2011 state championship and didn't even play in the finals at Derek Pieper. Again, results speak for themselves.
Do you understand that Goldberg helped coach lake highland prep after he was fired so they would beat st andrews in the championship?
Give me a break. He is friends with their coach. He had no obligation to SA after the way they treated him. Are you on glue.
He is actually a lacrosse "consultant" and was paid by LHP to come up and help out...he has no loyalty to anyone other than the almighty $.
JG does NOTHING and I mean NOTHING for free!!
Most of the SA kids were not at the Derek Pieper..there was actually a recruiting tournament that their coach had them going to that weekend....who cares about the Derek Pieper???
Goldberg never attended that tournament until last year with Team Florida...remember JG does not like to attend tournaments that he does not get or have a piece of...so he takes all his teams to mostly tourneys he owns (or his "group" owns) and pays himself.
Are you sure b/c I saw CP there?
@???? - doesn't matter...they were still there. At least 2 D1 commits were there. I can tell you the families were not happy!
@ Actually - did you expect him to not work or earn any money after SA fired him??? Come on man...get real. SA had no loyalty to him after all those years/championships why would you expect him to have any towards them.
The majority of the SA families would love to have him back...just ask them!
SA gave Goldberg opportunity after opportunity to clean up his act and do the "right things"...he chose not to and was let go - he knew it was coming. This had been coming for years....
There's nothing written in stone that JG wont come back. I personally would like to see all you haters then. Will you still be ragging on him when your son is winning. Or whining bc your sons not playing.
Its not just about the loss to LHP-SA has lost its luster.
so has Team Florida...all things he is involved with have "lost their lustre" b/c his greed has come out in full force...he will not come back to SA. He wanted everyone to believe you had to go to SA..you had to play Team Florida or S FL Select...you had to take his private lessons..you had to pay him $ to talk to schools to go anywhere for lacrosse. No one else could help you - made up stories about other schools and coaches to get ahead. It was simply not true...everyone that believed him needs a reality check...he was a great snake oil salesman!
SA has lost its lustre because JG is not there. Plain and simple...say what you want, hate all you want...but it's true. The current coaches are very nice but do not have the same intensity or knowledge and as a result their players are not getting better. This is what the parents are saying.
Did he leave Team Florida too...NO..it has lost its lustre b/c everyone makes it now...a cash cow for JG and his buddies. Asking parents for extra $ to talk to colleges (which is what a coach should do regardless) - cash cow!
There are a few SA parents that want him back...but only a few
I like how Coach G posts about himself
You are insane if you think JG even reads this-There are people that believe in him and like him and want him back. More than a few and some with $$$ to back their wishes.
JG absolutely reads this..he is an egomaniac - $$ cannot buy you everything at SA!
The number of Goldberg believers is dwindling day by day...he still has a group...but nowhere near what he used to have.
@ dwindling - You'll soon see how wrong you are...
I'm pretty sure all the hate is from a party of one that is quite busy on this forum. Resentment is a killer-it will ruin you- not the one you hate.
I think you're right. Instead of focusing on the good...they're focused on hating. In case you're wondering hater...NO ONE IS LISTENING! You'll soon see...
I thought SA's current coach used to be the assistant when JG was there, cant recall his name. Will he be the coach for this year or is there a possibility JG could come back immediately? Isn't CP just a consultant? Also what happened to team 22? Havent heard of them doing anything and a bunch of their players simultaneously turning up on team Florida
I can't believe no one will us their real names. Jeff is a great coach why not just give him his due for what's he's done for lacrosse in Florida and helping mold boys into men. I have two boys that played for Jeff and won 6 state championships. They will both tell you what a great experience it was for them.
SA will kick butt this year just like last year. We are just fine wo JG. Sometimes SH. We will not make that mistake again in the finals.
SA is a team/school divided...many parents want to oust CP and are looking to bring JG back....willing to do WHATEVER it takes...thsi may not be good for the school and for Mr. 22 himself
That is what the word is...Casey Powell on his way out of SA - school and parents unimpressed...he should fill up his tank with $22.00 in gas, get into his 1922 Ford and head North on Rte 22
Does anyone outside SA really care about CP,JG, 22 33,44,91,25....? Nobody gives two hoots about this drama, get a grip on reality you're not the be all end all anymore. Lots of good coaches and players around.
I thought the coach was the assistant that was there when JG was coach and that he basically stabbed JG in the back on his way out. So I feel sorry for that guy( is his name RJ?) because if JG comes back he and his cronies better fill their tanks as well and they better drive a lot further away than Casey-at least a few states-I dont even think that will be far enough.
The whole Casey Powell thing has been a crock since the beginning- he was a consultant with a ton of other interests. $$$ and a big name don't always equal the best coaching.Definitely not the case here-no continuity or unity what so ever, obvious to outsiders. -
odds are 22 to 1 JG returns to SA
Good! Then SA will get some spine again. Of course that means SA will dominate south florida again but that is what good coaches do with their teams. Coach G made some mistakes so hopefully he will have learned a lesson and stop his nonsense. He is a good coach and just needs to stay focused on developing players not growing his personal wealth off their parents.
I don't think that is personal wealth as you call it -was the issue.
JG was let go for a reason and SA is trying to move on. CP appears not to be the answer, but this will be fixed soon enough. The talent SA has just needs the correct coaching and the rest will come with it. And JG is DEFINITELY not the answer!
While the rest of Florida FHSAA was focusing on their programs-SA has been involved in this conflict of EGO's. Florida in general has alot of talent now-its not just at SA or "imported" soley to SA. When we get JG back, and we will-it will be an uphill battle. We can thank the parents that worked so hard to have him removed in the first place. Other schools have come to the realization that strong lacrosse programs are a real attraction to incoming students. Now one can pick a school based on academics as well as athletics. Lacrosse players in Fl used to have no choice if they wanted to play with the best.
SA team is working hard and preparing themselves for the upcoming season. The only battle that rages is with a group of parents who did not agree with SA decision to part ways with JG and will carry on their disruptive actions, and will stop for nothing, to turn back the clock. How about supporting the Team for change? It might be best that they start on their own somewhere else and allow the rest of the people enjoy the game!
The Battle that rages is with a group of parents that can't admit that they were wrong to interfere with JG and SA administration in the first place. Its so transparent. That misguided group coupled with the coaches that threw JG under the bus and then went on to mismanage the team-Those are the people that need to move on.
Who's idea was Casey Powell??? 22 cents for your thoughts.
It was Casey's idea...when he heard JG was out, he had his rep call the school cuz he needed a job. So much for SA doing a national search like they promised - 22 was a quick answer or so they thought. Come back JG. PLEASE!
We are a team divided. There is no team unity and lots of frustration on the part of our players and families. SA administrators better figure out and announce what they're doing soon. Otherwise, how many SA lax families will renew their contracts for next year???
JG going to STA. So what does SA parents think now?
Obviously those parents that thought they had "pull" did not...JG wanted to go back to SA - desperately..they did not want him and neither did Pinecrest. Let him go have fun with Crowley and yell some more at those STA players.
If he was that wanted as a coach he would have a head job...cannot leave the state b/c they would not put up with his nonsense anywhere else...hope the STA learn faster than the SA parents do, what he is all about
No one said JG was going to SA this year. Read the discussions carefully...it is for next year! Read the article...he's at STA for 1 year.
Well the SA parents were trying for THIS year...obviously you are not dialed in and no one wants him except STA that is why he landed there! PC said NO THANKS!
HAHAHA...heard he went after the Benjamin job too - he is sneaky and would take a friend's job out from under him - watch out Crowley!
word on the street is that many STA players & parenst not too happy with the coaching addition either...hmmmm
Well at least now all of the JG parents posse @ SA have a place to transfer their kids to, and we don't have to listen to their whine no more. But, I rather daubt it! We'll have our own "Wine and Cheese" party again this year.
All the bickering and talk will come to a head again if STA defeats SA tonight.
Go away hater and take your kid with you!
Please Team Fl/STA coaches should be embarrassed at the lack of sportsmanship tonight...bye bye Thing 1 and Thing 2!!
What happened?
Sure the STA player showed lack of sportsmanship but the STA coaches handled it well....they had another player serve his penalty and then had the player escorted out of the game and out of the school. Good job coaches! Stop being a hater!

What prompted the incident?
i heard he tried to punch a fire extinguisher on the way out
Funny how you think they handled it well...typical behavior that they condone and actually display themselves on the sideline and at practice..I don't hate, I just am not unconcious like the kool aid drinkers!

You must be kidding me. Your obviously delusional or related to one if those gorillas. Crowley and his staff of eight year olds encourage that type of behavior. Not a game will pass where they don't trash talk or beat up on an opponent. Tonight was a prime example of this but instead of winning they got crushed. Instead of losing gracefully they let their players do whatever they wanted. That game escalated to the point that number 12 walked off the field after hitting one player and then hit another. Didn't see SA retaliate or go crazy. Respect for the game starts at the top and Crowley is a joke. As for your statement they got the kid off the field. They should of got him off the field a quarter earlier. Not to worry though extreme will take off where STA left off.
Just saw the video on YouTube. The kid is a menace. Sucker punches a kid as he is being ushered off the field by a ref! Horrific!
The St Thomas coaching staff should be ashamed of themselves, they had a very successful season when it comes to wins, BUT, what kind of morals, sportsmanship and respect for the game and opponents are they teaching their kids? It was shown on the news what a black eye for the entire lacrosse community. I'm sure this could have been avoided if the coaches new this player had a history of acting this way. What a joke they made of their program and themselves, I guess this is condoned and encouraged by the coaching staff or it woulnt have happened. This entire program is now a JOKE, glad my son plays for coach who teaches more than winning at all costs. IT STARTS AT THE TOP!!!!
Countdown to legal action....
is the kid a junior or senior? I imagine the coaches will throw him off the team if he is a junior. Not much you can do if he is a senior.
senior
Roid rage?
sounds like a punk. makes st thomas look really bad. where are his parents? everyone else has lost to st andrews and they don't act that way.
STA knew what kind of player they were putting on the field. A coaching staff that has removed and then reinstated this individual should do some soul searching- why do they choose to work with people's children?
If endicott was smart, they will rescind their lax offer for this kid to play in college after watching this despicable display of poor sportsmanship and uncontrollable anger???
wonder if Team Florida & Extreme & Goldberg & Premier Players Academy & Crowley will be putting this up on their websites and email blasts that we get on a daily basis....if the coaches behave like hooligans, we must accept the fact that the players will follow suit
Just saw the video. Wow! And the sta coaching staff just let the poor kid lay there. Sad night for s Fla lax.
Lack of reaction from STA staff was chilling. Hit and run and nobody sees nothin.
The kid that sucker punched the player should be banned from lacrosse down here..period and I give the SA players on the field a lot of credit for not rushing the player. HOWEVER, lets not make the Scots out to be the example of sportsmanship..their #15 player was waving goodbye to the ejected player from the field..is on the video..not very sportsmanlike..is it violent? no, is it even on the same page as what the ST kid did? not even close..it is still obnoxious..yes. Also, whats up with the cheering crowd? Were they cheering because the player was ejected? That was really strange to watch
Let's be fair, coaches didn't make the kid swing.
No the coaches did not, They act a certain way and know their players personalities or atleast should considering the amount of time spent with them. If the coaches act like bafoons the players will follow their lead, thinking it is ok to act that way. Crowley and his staff don't care about sportsmanship and never have. It's a win at all costs attitude with no regard for teaching life lessons and demeaning, swearing, telling kids they suck that promotes this type of behavior. It's too bad he and his staff condone this, they have some great athletes, maybe they should rethink what they're trying to accomplish down in Raider land!!
True, but with their coaches just standing there doing nothing it was like watching the last episode of Seinfeld. Jerry and the gang got sent away for a year. Sitcom over.
The cheering came from the STA parents. They we're cheering and hollering for the boys aggresive nature. As a parent in the stands I could hear "keep 'em coming" along with "that's what they deserve." STA fans and players had no class the whole night, and while #15 may have waved him off, the kid just threw a few punches, a hand wave is nothing to be mentioned. That was disgusting
St. Thomas Aquinas is rolling over in his grave. Sounded like the Roman Colliseum. Doesn't STA have a mission statement or morality clause?
Don't forget, the kid had just punched a SA player on the field, that's why he was being ejected. I'm sure SA felt some sort of way about that. Gentlemanly that it was only a wave bye-bye. Actually kind of impressed with SA's composure.
This how we do it at St Thomas winning is everything whatever it takes. If you want sportsmanship look somewhere else, STA athletics is about winning even if we have to bend the rules a little(or a lot) we want to win and thats what we will continue to do whatever it takes! Crowley is my man or maybe that assistant who has won so many state championships should get a shot at this lacrosse thing, what's his name? Goldberg yeah thats it. Watch your back, Raider nation wants winning ,what ever it takes!!!!
That was parents cheering in the stands? Disgraceful..thought it was kids..The sad part is that Florida already has more to prove in the lax community and an episode like that is a black eye for all of us. The action must be swift and send a profound message that THIS IS NOT what Florida lacrosse is all about. With all the great lax played down here and Jupiter crushing Tampa last night, this is what makes the new feed. ST should be ashamed of themselves. Would not be surprised if the college that kid is signed to play for revokes their commitment based on that.
I'll keep my son in public school, thank you very much. If it ever happened in a public school, kid would be down the river toot sweet.
What led up to him hauling off and hitting the kid during the game?
#15 also wipes the ground after he scores...right on the news clip last night
that behavior should also be addressed - not very sportsmanlike at all...however SA has not addressed the off field shenanigans that have been going on all school year either...I guess hear no evil, see no evil for both STA & SA
RIDICULOUS!!
This wouldn't happen at a public school?
LOL
There are a million examples of public school indiscretions
Listen the public school down the street from SA (a little south) is having the same off field issues as SA and NOTHING has been done - anothe shame shame moment for sure!!
Again kids and coaches should be held accountable.
Referring to physical violence. Off-field shenanigans, not sure what that's all about.
In all reality the STA team went into this game unportsmanlike. I coached with Crowely many years ago at youth level and his teams then were known for this same type of behavior. Unbeleiveable at the youth level, but true. Make no bones about both teams have issues with on and off field behavior, but I agree Champions committ with Endicott should be pulled. any school worth their salt wants nothing to do with this type of behavior, no matter how well he plays. Just shows you "Money can't buy you Class" All the athletes at STA have this above all behavior and think they can do what ever they want because of who they are. Grow up the real world is going to crush you with this attitude. As for CP and SA, they knew what they were getting before he was hired. He has more issues with $$ than JG, so why would anything change???
If STA had any sense, they would issue an apology..since this is online now, and public, they need to do something fast and try and distance themselves from the behavior of one of their players. If they do nothing, it will be as if they are condoning the behavior. It is a shame that there is the video as it will be seen by the lacrosse community and it casts a dark shadow..people love controversy and that video will overshadow all the good teams and players out there whether people want to admit it or not.
If you're angry at 15 wiping the ground you clearly dont have espnu. Players celebrate all the time. Get over it. With the way that young man has played this year, I'd be excited if I was him too.
Whats wiping the ground? Want to know so I don't get punched in the face.
wiping the ground is disrespectful...on any level
Just b/c something is on TV does not make it right
wake up
Sounds like this kid has a history of aggression. If so, I hope he gets help.
This video was posted this morning on lacrosse playground and many other lax websites. Hell, if you Google "lacrosse punch" this is the only thing thats on there. He better hope this doesn't screw up his scholarship.
This "incident" is just a result of the way that the STA coaching staff, including JG, coach. They treat the players like animals. Speak to them like animals. It is no excuse...but you can bet I would be clamoring for the entire staff to go and I would definitely not be choosing to line either Crowley or Goldberg's pockets with my $.
It was astonishing how the entire STA coaching staff stood so calmly, arms crossed as a player lay on the field...I guess when you treat your own players like animals, they look at their opponents in a similar light.
Both coaches have been heard bullying players - demoralizing & vulgar language is used on a consistent basis....who would subject their own child to this kind of treatment??
Parents need to re-evaluate who they allow their children to spend time with.
We all knew this was a ticking time bomb....tick, tick, tock!!
just bc you've never scored a goal in your life doesn't make it wrong ;)

"That doesn't really dictate what we're about as a program," St. Thomas Aquinas associate head lacrosse coach Jeff Goldberg, who is a former St. Andrews head coach, told ESPN760.
Wonder if Team Florida will add boxing gloves to their Team Store this season??
Crowley has incorporated MMA as part of his special training program for members of extreme lacrosse program now thats what i call EXTREME lol
I hope people stop and think about shelling out their cash to Crowley & Goldberg with Ex$reme and Goldber's Team F$orida...they are disgraceful
